A coup is a forceful take-over of power, devoid of every set democratic standard. The election in some parts of Nigeria especially in Rivers state was a coup against the people. On a day when the President's wife was supposed to show example by being patriotic to cast her vote in Otuoke, Bayelsa, she was in Rivers State to control the security agencies in the state in a bid to ensure the victory of her political son, Nyesom Wike by hook or by crook.
President Jonathan in a bid to assuage the feelings of his 'estranged' wife, ordered the transfer of AIG Tunde Ogunsakin out of Rivers State on the day of the Governorship/Assembly elections for daring to discipline an erring DPO who was caught assisting PDP in Asari Toru LGA to cart away election materials. Patience Jonathan cried out to her husband the moment she realised that the Police and the Army were no longer their willing tools.
What the world saw in Rivers State was a coup!
It was not just a travesty of justice but it was a Transformation Agenda from GOODLUCK to COUPLUCK!!
