The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has perfected plans to set ablaze the headquarters office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, located in Port Harcourt.

According to an insider source, the plot which has reached the execution stage, is meant to raze down the entire INEC office, but where impossible, target the Commission's 'Strong Room' where both sensitive and non-sensitive materials used for the April 11 governorship polls would have been stored.

“This evil plot is nothing other than a calculated plan fully devised and funded by the PDP to destroy graphic and sundry pool of evidence relating to the discredited governorship election”, a whistle-blower has disclosed.

The source further revealed that part of the evil plan by PDP to destroy evidence of the large scale irregularities that include falsification of results, massive thumb-printing, violence and other forms of electoral fraud, is supposed to be carried out in connivance with some unidentified INEC security personnel whose ranks would have been infiltrated by PDP.

“Desperate to cover the trail of the huge pile of evidence cataloguing its record-breaking electoral malfeasance, which is climbing by the seconds, PDP has commissioned some faceless, compromised officials of INEC, particularly in the Security and Records Units, respectively, to set the Rivers State headquarters ablaze. That accomplished, INEC's “investigation team” in its “report after a thorough investigation”, will allude the inferno to “sudden surge in public power supply”, it was learnt through the source.

Warning against the said plot, the whistle-blower has called on security agents to be pro-active as to prevent this “madness”.
