Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), Nigeria's
president-elect, has once again reiterated his commitment to fighting
corruption in the country.
Buhari, who was speaking on Wednesday in Yola, Adamawa
state, stated that he would not allow the embezzlement of Nigeria's resources.
The All Progressives Congress, APC leader vowed to
focus on dealing with corruption, insecurity and unemployment while adding that
special priority would also be given to education.
The president-elect lamented the years of decay in the
various systems, which have resulted in massive unemployment.
To create jobs, Buhari said he would invest in
agriculture and exploit the mineral resources sector, noting also that Nigeria
is endowed with human and natural resources “but unfortunately the resources
were mismanaged and squandered, leading to the present situation in the land”.
The former Head of State however, stated that with the
change of the administration, Nigeria's resources would be distributed fairly.
